2021 Presidential Inauguration and Transition Security
Urgent Transportation Request Fulfilled in 24 Hours
Superior planning and preparedness allowed TMS to provide urgent ground transportation services for National Guard service members assisting in the Task Force Independence held on January 20, 2021 and post-presidential transition security. Within 24-hours of initial contact, TMS provided over 200 DOT compliant buses and dozens of ground support team members to transport service members assisting in the ceremony.
OPERATIONAL OVERVIEW
TMS responded to the RFQ on Saturday and was notified at 12:00 A.M. to proceed. Team members executed the plan of 50 buses arriving within 12 hours, 100 additional buses within 24 hours, and 125 additional buses within 36 hours, fulfilling the request. In all, 275 buses were secured in 36 hours.
TMS’ ongoing experience and excellence in delivering motor coach support for large-scale events helped team members effectively respond on short notice. Strong vendor relationships, as well as a track record of quick response times, allowed TMS to quickly deliver the equipment and staff to meet the project requirements and deadline.

Successfully executed urgent transportation needs for a large-scale event with significant security concerns including:
- 275 DOT compliant vehicles
- 68 bus operators
- Resources obtained from 14 states and Washington, D.C.
- Plan conceived and execution began within 24-hours
- Completed over 2,500 trips in 16 days
SUMMARY
TMS detailed technical evaluations provided the National Guard with confidence for a successful execution of the plan and overall project. A complete and responsive proposal for each element of the planning proved the TMS team would meet all project parameters and be fully compliant with all regulatory requirements.
